Snappers are found in all oceans of tropical and subtropical regions. Snappers are sought after mainly for their delicious table fare and especially the red snapper. Snappers are commonly caught dropping down dead or live bait and normally range in the 1 to 2 feet length. The Cubera snapper is the largest of all snappers and has been recorded up to 63" in length. The American Red Snapper is a common topic of discussion due to the poor management by officials claiming that their stocks are depleted when all anglers are aware that they are so abundant it's not even funny and at times hard to catch other fish due to the amount of Red Snappers on each wreck or reef.
