20" Black Drum 3D Suspeniosn Mount Description
This 20" Black Drum 3D mount, is extremely realistic as the blank that is used to produce this replica was cast off an actual Black Drum and has captured all the beautiful and intricate skin detail. Everything that is viewable is finished. These fish are closely related to Redfish, also called Red Drum, they are found in brackish waters and estuaries near oyster beds.
Black Drum Painting Schedule
With all our mounts we encourage our customers to send in a picture of their catch so we can paint and replicate to match that fish. Without a picture our normal process is to paint your new Black Drum bright and lit up looking as if you just pulled it out of the water. Juvenile Black Drum look very similar to Sheepshead. They have a silvery body with four to five thick black vertical bands running from the dorsal fin down to the belly and as they grow larger those bands start to fade like this one has. The final step is to clear coat the fish mount with a UV Protectant Urethane clear coat allowing you to use it indoors or outside.
