30" Longnose Gar Half Sided Fish Mount

The longnose gar fish is a unique freshwater species that can be found in rivers and lakes throughout North America. These fish have a distinctive long, narrow snout and can grow up to six feet in length. Longnose gar are carnivorous predators and use their sharp teeth and streamlined bodies to catch prey such as fish and crayfish.  This 30" longnose gar fish mount you see here is a half-sided version, created by casting the front portion of our two-sided wall mount molds. When displayed, the mount's circumference is either flush against the wall or very close to it. This production technique reduces labor and supply costs, resulting in a more affordable price point, while maintaining the same skin texture and finishing process as a traditional full mount.

Longnose gar fish have a distinct appearance that sets them apart from other fish species. They are typically olive-brown or green in color, with a lighter colored belly. Longnose gar fish have scales that are diamond-shaped and interlocking, giving their skin a tough, armored appearance. Additionally, they have a series of either subtle or dark spots or markings that run along their sides, which can vary in size and shape. These markings may help camouflage the longnose gar in its natural habitat, or they may serve as a visual cue to other fish or potential predators.To provide superior protection indoors or outdoors, we apply a UV-protecting clear coat as the final step in the finishing process. Please note that we do not offer custom paint jobs for our half-sided series replicas.

This feature allows for easy installation once your new fish mount arrives by marking the area on the wall where the hanger will go and then drilling in two screws roughly 2" apart from each other provided a resting area for the hanger.
