This northern pike fish mount is part of our half sided series. A half sided mount is produced by casting the front part of our two sided wall mount molds. When displayed the circumference of the half mount is either touching the wall or very close to the wall. This process cuts labor and supplies cost and therefore results in a lower price point however the skin texture and finishing process is the same as a traditional full mount. Northern Pike Mount Paint Schedule
Northern Pike are serial ambush predators; they lie still waiting for prey, for long periods of time and then exhibit remarkable acceleration as they strike. Northern Pike have a distinctive habit of catching its prey sideways in the mouth, killing or immobilizing it with its sharp teeth, and then turning the prey lengthwise to swallow it. Often Northern Pike are a dark goldish coloring on their sides that blends into a dark brownish color on their backs. Their sides are littered with whitish/gold markings and their fins are normally orange with hints of red and black markings. Like other fish, northern pike can have many different variations of coloring however our standard paint job includes the above mentioned features. The final step of the finishing process is to spray a UV protecting clear coat to give it superior protection indoors or outside. We do not custom paint our half sided series replicas..
Half Mount Installation
Each fish mount in our half sided series arrives with a fiberglass hanger on the backside of the fish mount. This allows easy installation once you receive your new fish mount.
