28" Hogfish (Hog Snapper) Half Mount

This hogfish mount is part of our half sided series. A half sided mount is produced by casting the front part of our two sided wall mount molds. When displayed the circumference of the half mount is either touching the wall or very close to the wall. This process cuts labor and supplies cost and therefore results in a lower price point however the skin texture and finishing process is the same as a traditional full mount.

Hogfish Half Mount Paint Schedule

Hogfish are also called Hog Snappers even though they are actually a wrasse and not a snapper specie. Hogfish are bottom fish found across South Florida, the Bahamas and much of the Caribbean. Hogfish are also known for their unique habit of turning side ways to look at predators approaching them, doing so puts them in perfect position of pole spear reach when free diving. Hog snappers commonly have peachy, pink sides with faint vertical band stripes and with the hard line crimson, purply forehead. Our standard paint job includes the above mentioned features. The final step of the finishing process is to spray a UV protecting clear coat to give it superior protection indoors or outside. We do not custom paint our half sided series replicas.

Each fish mount in our half sided series arrives with a fiberglass hanger on the backside of the fish mount. This allows easy installation once you receive your new fish mount.

This year we added the Hogfish half mount to our other Mount This! half mounts on the patio: a mahi, sailfish, wahoo, blackfin tuna with some flying fish thrown in the mix. I give them to my husband each Christmas to commemorate a particularly fun catch of the year. They are always one of his favorite presents. The quality of the mounts is great, they look awesome and the customer service superb!
