California Yellowtail are a commonly targeted fish species off the coast of California. These hard fighting fish are related to the east coast Amberjack and are a delicious table fare both cooked and as sashimi.
California Yellowtail full mounts can look different depending on which area of waters they are taken from, however normally they have a tealish green back with a yellow band that runs across their side. Many of the California Yellowtail pictures we see have an orangish brown colored eye that almost looks electric at times. We recommend you send us a picture of your California Yellowtail so we can match your fish's body color and create a custom colored eye to match your fish.
Our California Yellowtail half mounts are produced with care to showcase their vibrant coloring and almost electric looking eye and are anatomically correct half fish replicas that are intended to be displayed on the wall. A half sided mount is produced by casting the front part of our two sided wall mount molds. When displayed the circumference of the half mount is either touching the wall or very close to the wall. This process cuts labor and supplies cost and therefore results in a lower price point however the skin texture and finishing process is the same as a traditional full mount.
