Salmon are one of the most sought after gamefish in the world known for their incredible table fair. There are a variety of different salmons including the famous Chinook or King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon and the Silver or Coho Salmon. Most salmon are born in freshwater and migrate into the ocean to spend their lives before returning to freshwater to reproduce. Primarily salmon are lighter and tend to be on the more silvery during their ocean dwelling days however their coloring will change to deep red, greens and purple hues during their migration back into freshwater to spawn.
