44" Black Drum Half Mount

Fish Mount Guarantee This black drum mount is part of our half sided series. A half sided mount is produced by casting the front part of our two sided wall mount molds. When displayed the circumference of the half mount is either touching the wall or very close to the wall. This process cuts labor and supplies cost and therefore results in a lower price point however the skin texture and finishing process is the same as a traditional full mount. These fish are closely related to Redfish, also called Red Drum, they are found in brackish waters and estuaries near oyster beds.

Black Drum Mount Paint Schedule

Juvenile Black Drum look very similar to Sheepshead. They have a silvery body with four to five thick black vertical bands running from the dorsal fin down to the belly and as they grow larger those bands start to fade like this one has. The final step is to clear coat the fish mount with a UV Protectant Urethane clear coat allowing you to use it indoors or outside.

Half Mount Installation

Each fish mount in our half sided series arrives with a fiberglass hanger on the backside of the fish mount. This allows easy installation once you receive your new fish mount.
